Hey, im trying to set up my wireless network card on my new laptop, but im not having any luck. I have a prism2 card, which is intel pro/wireless 2200bg. I've tryed downloading the drivers, but its says thats ieee80211, so i try installing that, except it gives me another error saying sometihng like:
egrep: /lib/modules/2.6.12.4//.config not found or something.
egrep: /lib/modules/2.6.12.4//linux/someotherdir/autoconfig.c not found
it's something like that, and i try to make those directory's but i don't know what it has a double slash after 2.6.12.4. im running out of ideas, and im about to give up. I have been working on this for 2 days. Any idea's or help would be very good. Thanks

Also i have no idea what im really doing, this is the first time im trying to set up my wireless network card, and im just following the directions on the ipw2200 website @ sourceforge...
Sorry, you said you had a Prism2 card and I had an old copy of the source code for that lying around. Prism2 and intel2200bg seem to be two different things.
But if you are sure you have the correct driver it looks like you are missing some preliminary configuration step (editing a script, running some config script, cd'ing to correct directory???). Either that or the driver installation process is not flexible enough for your setup.
The mailing lists for the driver project would probably be a better source of information than LQ.
