serial mgmt with a serial cable on CentOS xen (Dom0)

Hi all,

First note that this is not a double post with the thread a opened earlier:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...3/#post3548494

I have two possibilities to manage my installed UPS.
Via a serial-usb cable (RJ45 and USB connector) or with a rj45-serial cable. (1 side typical serial connector, other side RJ45 connector; comm management port)

This is about the second option.
I tried to use /dev/ttyS0 but this does not work.
When I do dmesg | grep tty,
I get:
Xen virtual console successfully installed as ttyS0

WHen I connect the cable I don't get anything when I try with minicom. Probably because Xen uses it.
Is there a way to change this so xen does not use it?
And how can I check if it is really Xen using this serial port?

Thanks in advance for your help

I post the solution to this as a new post so it is clear that this is actually solved.

In /boot/grub/menu.lst after the kernel line you should add:
console=vga xencons=tty

Reboot and you should now see your normal tty device in dmesg.
