IS there a forum for selling Linux Compatible Hardware on LinuxQuestions or Where.
I'm not a Vendor , just a individual with some Linux Hardware I want to get rid of, and someone maybe able to use.
Unless it is exceptionally specialized software, I can't see there would be much incentive to setup a forum for it or try and sell it to Linux users exclusively.
The times are largely gone (with perhaps a few exceptions) where a Linux user had to worry about compatibility when buying hardware. Most major types of hardware are now supported out of the box, and there are enough users out there that a Google search should give you a pretty clear idea as to what to expect.
The end result is that a Linux user doesn't need to limit themselves to a specific marketplace, they can do just as well with any online retailer with resources like the HCL here at LQ. Your best bet would be to simply put the hardware up on Craigslist or eBay and make note that it is supported under Linux for anyone who may be interested. Besides, why limit yourself to only Linux users as buyers? If you put it on something with a larger audience like eBay, you are more likely to get a sale, whether or not the buyer runs Linux or not doesn't really matter.
That's just not true about most hardware being supported.
And even if they're supported "Out o' da box," some don't work 100%.
I would be stupid to think those above statements are completely true.
I think such a forum board would be an interesting addition to this forum.
A person could see the specialized Linux devices.
