Searching for best printer

Hejsa!

I am currently using a cheap printer/scanner combination, but I have to replace it. Can you recommend what I should buy now, that is supported by Ubuntu / has a driver I can install?

I am on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

My current printer is Canon Pixma MP280.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Printers may help.

Generally, HP is hassle-free in Linux.
MFPs - No experience with those, but some features may be unavailable, regardless of manufacturer.
Printer/scanner should be an ok combination.

anemone42,

HP printers work nicely in Linux and the HP 8620 has excellent customer feedback:

See post #2 on:

Download and install hplip using the following walkthrough:

Thank you. I've bought an HP, as was suggested. And I'll certainly look at the hplib walkthrough.
