SCSI controller card

If I were to buy an adaptec SCSI controller card to use with my 68 pin hard drives (they are 4gb) what should i buy? I would like something that is universally accepted amongst linux and unix operating systems. I'm not looking for something fast or amazing, just something cheap and practicle that I can buy on ebay.

Check in the HCL section at the top or to the right and check on adaptec cards. I believe 95% work without and issue. From that size I doubt they are U160 so a 2940 would work fine. I would go with 19160 which support U160 as well if you upgrade in the future but if you do get any U160 scsi drives then that is the only thing you want attached to that chain if you add a a plain scsi II drive then all drives will fall back to the slowest drive on the chain so the U160 will become 40's in a sense.
