Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

I am thinking of getting this monitor, it comes with a disk and the question I want to ask is: Will the disk work on Linux? More specifically Slackware 11.0.
Also, I have an old 1998 IBM computer, will the cables fit in the video card? I'm sure it will, I just want to make sure.

Edit: I was told that the monitor most likely will work but the CD wont. If the monitor doesn't work I can manually edit some file to do so. http://www.bitbenderforums.com/vb22/...ad.php?t=60285
Will that be all that I have to do to make it work?

The CD disk you mentioned is the configuration vehicle that is used by Windows for your monitor. There are some tools in Linux that can also make use of this. For example, in SuSE the Sax2 utility is able to read that same disk and apply it as intended to the X environment. But with Slack you will need to do this manually by going in and tweaking the xorg.conf file either manually with a text editor or by running Xorg's native config script. In these instances all you need is the basic monitor specs so you can plug in the values where needed.
