Samsung 172N 1280*1024 not supported

Hello. I have a 17 inch Samsung SyncMaster 172N monitor. Looks very nice in windows XP, and playing games with such a resolutin is fantastic.

However, when I start Linux (I have Mepis).

When I run the Mepis System Center, there is not the model that I have. So I chosed the SyncMaster 191+, which has excactly the same vertical and horizontal frequency (56.0-75.0) and (30.0-81.0) respectively.

Anyway, I can't use this monitor with Linux at a resolution greater than 1024*768, the chekbox will not allow me to select greater resolutions

Any help will be appreciated, since I really want to have the full resolution with Linux as well

Regards

Xavier
