I've just installed Fedora 8 on my Dell Inspiron 1420n laptop, and I'm trying to get suspend (to memory) working. Hibernate already works fine, out of the box. Suspend works fine, but when attempting to resume, the display remains blank. The backlight usually flashes briefly, but goes off again, so I think it's powering on OK, but X never resumes. However, if I press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, X restarts and I can log in again.
I've tried playing with the various quirks on the
HAL quirks website, but none of them seem to help. Two quirks are enabled by the quirks config files for my machine:
Code:
lshal | grep quirk
power_management.quirk.vbe_post = true (bool)
power_management.quirk.vbestate_restore = true (bool)
Any suggestions?
Regards
David
