Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

removing fglrx files?

when running chkrootkit my system complains of my fglrx files. Since Im running mandrake ie (Xorg) and ..... well I guess my question is I dont think Xorg is compatible with fglrx so if I delete these files, will I screw my box up so I wont get a display?

files listed are:
Quote:
/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.agp3.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.nvidia-agp.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.i7505-agp.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.agpgart_be.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.firegl_public.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.fglrx.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.fglrx.mod.o.cmd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/2.6.x/.fglrx.ko.cmd

I don't know but would like to. I just upgraded from 10.0 to 10.1 and everything went into the toilet. I had direct rendering working in 10.0 with fglrx drivers (of course, it was XFree86). Now it is broken again with 10.1. That's just one thing. A bunch of little stuff is broken too. For instance, my mouse wheel no longer works no matter how it's configured. Sigh... Should have left well enough alone, I guess.

I imagine I will can 10.1 pretty soon and go back to 10.0 if I can figure out how.
