remote UNIX printer configuration

I' m trying to configurate a remote UNIX printer in debian.
I used prnttool and followed the criteria showed for the printer, but when I
try to print for example from acroread for a pdf I have:

lpr: connect: No such file or directory
jobs queued, but cannot start daemon.

or if I do lpq -P<myPrinter> I see:

Warning: unable to get official name for local machine arwen.roma1.infn.it
waiting for lpverde1 to become ready (offline ?)

arwen is the local name of my computer, but the IP arwen.roma1.infn.it
is not existing (roma1.infn.it is my domain name).
while the jobs hang in queue but they are not really printing....
I have googled and found the same problem expressed by a RedHat user, so
it would be distribution-independent, but without solution...
Someone can suggest to me?

And I hope I will not be forced to return to localhost.localdomain, it's very sad...
