OK, we'll try one more thing before we rebulid your XF86COnfig file by hand. as root, type
Code:
updatedb
. You'll hear the harddrive kick in for a while as it catalogues all the files on your HD. Once it has returned you to a prompt, type
Code:
locate xf86config
and see what the output is. If you do have the xf86config build script installed, then locate will help us find the executable. Locate will probably find 5 or 6 different files with xf86config in the name, one of them will be something similar to
Code:
/usr/X11/bin/xf86config
or
Code:
/usr/X11/xf86config
. This is the path that you will want to use to execute the command. So if it shows up in
Code:
/usr/X11/xf86config
then type that on the command line as root and it should run the script.
Well, probly wasn't worth all the trouble, it works with every other monitor, next time I'll bring mine or hook up a better one. Thanx for all the help though.
