Realtek 8139 (Speedstream 1020) compiles for different kernel?!?!

Hey, i have kernel 2.4.20, and when i run insmod on 8139too.o, it says thet there is kernel-mismatch and it was compiled for 2.4.23 and i have 2.4.20. It asks for a NEW_INCLUDE_PATH in the makefile and the readme says i should change it to the include path of my system. Would changing this help me at all, and where can i find the include path? Im using CollegeLinux (slackware) 2.5

also, where do i place my kernel patch file when I wish to run the patch?

Support for the realtek 8139 is about as old as dirt. This is strange... What happens when you try this command:

/sbin/modprobe 8139too

Cheers,
