Tailored kernel module for fglrx not present in your system.
You must go to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir
and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module.
Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh'
in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository.
(see readme.txt for more details.)
As of now you can still run your XServer in 2D, but hardware acclerated
OpenGL will not work and 2D graphics will lack performance.

Installed: qt3 (gcc 3.2) based control panel application
And when I do those things, I get different errors, is there no easy way to get this card working?
Hi,
Have been reading the posts with great interest. Here is my problem
I have redhat 9 with a Radeon 9700. For various reasons I had to upgrade from Rh8 where an old fglrx was working. However, now
* since Rh9 comes with glibc2.3, the fglrx rpm complains (when I run sh Check.sh) because it expects glibc2.2
* I tried installing it anyway, and am unable to get X to run properly. It starts, and the main X screen comes up, but my mouse goes berserk, rendering the interface basically unusable. I don't know if I can downgrade to X4.2 and/or glibc2.2 at this point, and would be grateful for any tips.
You have to get the schneider fglrx driver listed in this post in order to get glibc 2.3 to work with rh9. At least that's what this post says. I haven't tried it because I'm waiting for ati to solve the problem (not holding my breath).
