problem in installing linux on asrock motherboard (p4v88)

hello

I have an ASrock motherboard (p4v88) and SATA hard disk which during installing win XP it didn't detect the controller (sata/raid...) and i had to press F6 and enter a diskette including the driver to detect the controller.

now i'm trying to install redhat 9 and i don't know how to get correct driver and what i must to do in linux instead of press f6 in xp.

if you can, please help me.

Redhat 9 is so old it probably doesn't have SATA support. You should probably just switch to a more up-to-date distribution.

Hi amin-kaveh, Welcome to lq. Any particular reason for Redhat 9? That's a very dated distro and there are Redhat based alternatives that should have better support for your newer hardware. You may want to look at the Fedora project and/or CentOS.
