problem enabling dma


/dev/cdroms/cdrom0:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)


0000:00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801FBM (ICH6M) SATA Controller (rev 03)


i cant get my dma working in my dvd-rw drive can anyonehelp (i have the chipset support enabled in kernel)

in Slack /dev/cdrom is a symlink to /dev/hdc.....usually..........
so, on your set up is /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 a symlink to /dev/hdx ???
