Today, I purchased a monitor and got a printer for free. The printer is a canon PIXMA iP500. I can't find the appropriate drivers. Since its free, I'm not stressing too much, but I would like to use it. Secondly, I purchased an ENVISION 17 inch LCD monitor. It seems to work fine, except when I am browsing the web. I have tried multiple browsers, but they all exhibit the same weird behavior. The page tries to reload for every bit it drops, as opposed to a smooth scroll. It worked fine on my CRT monitor (almost dead), and I am wondering if it is my refresh rate (16ms) or if I have something configured incorrectly. I am using Suse 9.3, and I have my monitor configured for a generic LCD, with the correct dimensions and refresh rate. If anyone can tell me what I have to do to correct either problem, I would be really grateful. Thanks.
Update: I apologize, my monitor now works. For some reason, turning on 3D aceleration fixed it. Not sure why. I am still out of luck on the printer, though.
Yeah, it is recognized, it even has the model number correct. I just can't find a printer driver that works. I wonder if there is a way to automate testing all printer drivers in sequence?
