not sure, but if you type
Code:
 cd /sbin
then
Code:
ls
will will have a clue what IS in your sbin directory. Whether that will help is another matter.

NB: "cd" is the command to change directory If you wish to change to a sub directory of the one you are in you can omit the first "/"
ls will list all the files and directories.

you could try piping it to a file.

I am not 100% sure that the direcotry listing will help, it was just an idea.

As far as piping text to a file goes, first create a file..
Code:
touch filename
then pipe it with
Code:
echo `command` > filename
makesure to use the backticks (`) NOT apostrophees

then you should be able to edit and cut/paste the contents.

I hope that works, I am new at this to and am not 100% sure. As I say, I cannot be sure the directory listing will help, but it may give someone hear a clue.

I don't think you have the file listing either...

Try this in the terminal type:
Code:
su - root
password: Type Root Password now (it will not print out what you type)
lspci
(anything in bold is what the computer will return to you.)

lspci dose not work, try /sbin/lspci.

If that dose work what dose echo $PATH give you?

I am going to go check linux-wlan, you may be able to use that too...

Linux-wlan-ng project dose not support your card (drivers of 1000's of wireless cards), D-Link web site shows there are no drivers avable for the D-link DWL-G510 pci card.

It could be possible that your card is based off a different chipset and you may be able to use the driver for that chipset instead.

Im the mean time you may want to read this book: http://www.icon.co.za/~psheer/book/ its called "LINUX:
Rute User's Tutorial and Exposition" by Paul Sheer. I have the hardback copy that I bought but he also put his book on the internet to any one to read. A great book, and will teach a lot about linux, and how to use the Linux commands...
