Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Please recommend Ultra ATA Card compatible with Fedora 3

I am looking to purchase an Ultra ATA Card for a Fedora Core 3 system currently running the 2.6.9 kernel. Will any ATA PCI card work, such as the Adaptec Ultra ATA card (parallel dual channel ATA PCI card 133 MByte/sec), or do I have to be more selective? Any recommendations? I'm not interested in SATA at this point.

Rather than looking at the card brand name look at the chipset on that card. A High Point chipset will work. Promise chipsets have a history of not working.
