"over range" monitor

I bought a Sceptre 19" Hi Res LCD monitor. The X9G-Naga II. My FC3 box says "over range" on the monitor after entering run level 5. My card is a 3Dfx Interactive Voodoo3. What could be the issue?
Thanks

Means that when FC3 enters graphical mode it's Horiz and Vert refresh ranges are out of range.
Not sure how to do this, but you need to change the refresh rates for X. Assuming when booting it uses set /etc/X11/xorg.conf you'll want to edit that.

You could boot to runlvl 1 (an option your bootload should allow, i.e. grub or lilo), mount the partitions, and edit the file.
Or you could pass some option to not use a graphical login, but I don't use FC3 so I'm not sure if/how that could be done.

Simply stated, the issue is with the refresh rate, since I don't know FC3 someone else might have a better fix for this.
