open ports on a router?


I have these ports open on a router is this ok? Or should I fix them immediately? thanks for any help

Port State Service
21/tcp open ftp
23/tcp open telnet
389/tcp open ldap
500/tcp filtered isakmp
1002/tcp open unknown
1720/tcp open H.323/Q.931

Telnet is kinda a bad idea, not really a hazard unless you're actually using it. Same with ldap and ftp, they both let passwords fly back and forth without any encryption. Basically, if you're not using any of those services, yeah, turn them the heck off.

What kind of router is it that has 1002 and 1720 open by default?

its an adtran 3200 I turned NAT on but I dont even know what those ports are, can I turn telnet off from a telnet session? or do I have to be hooked into from the serial port? thanks for the quick reply! I will close them as soon as I figure out how
