Check if your kernel has modules/supports modules for your card.
If you have the modules, make sure they are compiled into the kernel and make sure you are loading them at /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.x or whatever file that may be similar meant to autoload the modules at bootup. Make sure they are working by typing 'modprobe <driver name>' (without the < and >).
If you don't have the modules, check and see if there are ones that you can get and see if SuSE has some too (since you're using SuSE, I am assuming you are a n00b, therefor meaning you should check if SuSE has any of those crappy RPM packages for your card). Else, search sourceforge.net for drivers/modules for your card and if you need help installing them then get back to us
KDE can't manage hardware for its life. It's unrecognized by KDE because it can't find correct driver modules loaded/supported for/by the hardware.
