No sound at all with Ensoniq ES 137x under SuSE 9.3

Hello, I have a bit of a problem: my sound card won't work.
I've searched the forum for answers, but found none with the same problem as me.

For reference, I use SuSE 9.3 kernel 2.6.11.4-20a-default

My sound card is an Ensonique card with a creative labs chipset.
Yast detects the card as a Creative Sound Blaster Audio PCI128, but says it' s not running. So I try to delete the card, and add it anew as an Ensonique AudioPCI 137x card. I'm not exactly sure which mine is anymore, but there' s only three drivers, and I know one of them is mine as I've had it work before with a different version, but they all give the same resulting message:
Quote:
An error occured uring the installation of:

Creative Sound Blaster Audio PCI128

The kernel module snd-ens173x for sound support could not be loaded. This could be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
As you can see, it also keeps calling it a Creative Sound Blaster Audio PCI128.

From other topics, I derived the following info might help you:

How about you try something like
#modprobe snd-ens1371

and/or try searching for a module like:
#locate ens13 | grep ko

??

the Modprobe gives me:
Quote:
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.11.4-20a-default/modules.dep: No such file or directory
and the locate results in
Quote:
/lib/modules/2.6.11.4-21.7-default/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1370.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.11.4-21.7-default/kernel/sound/pci/snd-ens1371.ko
but I wouldn't know what to do with this...

Right, do this:

#depmod -ae

and then

#modprobe snd-ens1371

if that doesn't load the module try

#modprobe snd-ens1370

Both give
Quote:
FATAL: Module snd_ens137x not found
but the first thing returns no message.

I even tried to find them in Yast --> install and remove software, but nowhere to be found.

Running an updatedb and then running a locate on either module returns no results...

[edit] Thanks mate, I got it....at the beginning of all this, I want into Yast and found kmix wasn't there, so I installed it. I was rather busy at the time, so I forgot to reboot. So now, after a reboot, it works smooth as a baby' s bottom. Thanks for your time [/edit]
