nForce2 rear audio using ALSA and 2.6.X kernel

I'm sorry if this question has been answered already, but I have been searching for a while and can't find anything quite like this. This same post has even been on nForcer'sHQforums for several days but still no replies. I cant post URLs as links yet so If you want the link to nforcer's HQ PM me or just go check it out, near the top of the linux section.

I have 2 sets of 2 speakers each, one connected analog to the front L/R and one connected analog to the rear L/R channels. I compiled ALSA into the 2.6.7 kernel and front channel sound works great. I installed the alsa-lib and alsa-utils files, and fire up alsamixer. Master, PCM, everything seems to be working fine, but I cannot get sound from the rear channel only, front works great. I unmute the channel, try the switch to put rear sound out of the line in jack, everything I can think of. I'v talked to other people who did the exact thing as I did and the alsamixer opened the rear channels up fine and they all worked great. Any ideas?

Note: I tried the nvidia audio driver, but that did nothing, I suspect because its designed for the 2.4 kernel, I know theres a patch, but it seems to me to be easier to use ALSA unless the only way to get rear sound is with the nvidia drivers.

Try looking at the Alsa driver page and make sure you read the user posted comments at the bottom of the page.
