Question nforce2 mobo


I cannot install Linux on my new comp. I have tried RH 8.0 and Slack 8.1. RH gives me fatal X11 errors. Text mode install freezes after changing to disk 2. Slack will give me Segmentation Faults during install. At first it kept looking at hdd but I have no Sec. Slave drive. I disabled it in te bios and it still Seg Faults!!

WTH
Any Ideas Please Help Im tired of installing 4 times a day

epox 8rda+ w/nforce2 chip
amd 2600
512 MBRAM
ultra ATA 133 (onboard)
geforce4 ti 4600

I'm sure you set everything else in its aggressive mode. Use default values like FSB to 100, change CAS 2 to CAS 3, change cpu decode to normal, change OS to non-plug-n-play, let the BIOS look up IRQs instead of OS, set your hard drives to LBA, etc.

Theres post about how to install LINUX on an nforce2 system in this forum. Try searching this forum. Sorry I don't have the links to the threads.

THX That worked. XP ran just fine with default settings. Weird? Now I have to reinstall to fix the intsall. Right now it is FUBAR.
