nf7-s again

Hi you all,
I'm an older member so i'm trusting here everyone!

Fact:

Abit NF7-S
athlon MP 2600+
512 Mb DDR
geforce 2MX200
WD 40G 8Mb cache
Teac Cdrw/Dvd
RH linux 7.2

Questions:
a) confused about Nvidia's support about Sata, lan, firewire, usb2,sound.
What is natively supported by my linux distro and what is not. I would prefer to stay with Rh 7.2, but if necessarry i can change it to rh 9.0.
I'm a convinced linux user so no way back to Windows now.
b) is Nvidia's sound poor?? I have tried under w2000 with nvidia's drivers and it didn't make me happy....
c) if I have only one harddrive i can not use the sata interface built on board?? if so why did they supplied me only one sata cable and adaptor??? strange, that's shure!!

waiting!!
tnx
