New Dell XPS w/Intel HD controller not recognized

I just bought a new Dell XPS with an Intel 82801 controller card. I've tried FC2&3 as well as Redhat AS and none of them recognize either of my harddrives. I checked that the BIOS is up to date... here is output from /sbin/lspci

Any ideas?
thanks!

Did you ever get your drives recognized? I have a similar system from Dell (same 82801FR controller) and I have the same problem.

Thanks!

I'm unfamiliar w/ the fc3 installation process, but if you have the option you might want to try and manually load driver modules for PCI bridge and yenta socket.

I actually found the answer shortly after I posted the question. There is a setting in my Dell Dimension 8400 BIOS under "Drives" called "SATA operation". The default is "RAID autodetect/AHCI". I changed it to "Combination" (SATA/PATA combination mode) and FC3 installed without a hitch--I'm using it now.
