networking question about raid and instlling new hardware

Suppose you have a Linux box running a Samba server, which maintains a
4-disk RAID (in RAID 5 mode). This drive is nearly full, and you would
like to double the capacity by purchasing new hardware. Assume that
your RAID controllers cannot support more than 4 disks.

a. What steps would be required to replace the old RAID with the
new hardware?

b. Assuming that data redundancy is the number one priority, and
speed a secondary priority, would you recommend sticking with RAID 5
mode, or using a different mode?

any feedback is appreicated
thanks in advance
