Need help with Fedora 2 and Pioneer DVD-ROM and Sony CD-RW

Hey,

I recently installed Fedora Core 2 on an old Sony computer. I cannot get CD sound, nor can I get DVDs to play. I can get desktop sounds and such things. When I test my soundcard, it tests okay (but MIDI does not work). I can burn CDs as well.

I use the Hardware Browser to look at the DVD and CD. It correctly recognizes the make of both disk drives, but, for the driver, it says "none or built in".

I have looked on the net for the proper drivers, but am unable to find any.

The hardware browser tells me that I have:

Pioneer DVD-ROM ATAPIModel DVD-116 0115

and

SONY CD-RW CRX160E

Would anybody be able to lend a hand in helping me work out these problems (or point me to the appropriate thread if this question has already been answered)?

A Linux newbie,

Jody
