Cool Need a Video Card Recomendation!!!

Hello All,

I am looking for recommendations/opinions/whatever about which video card is the best (price/performance) for use in gaming under Linux. I am only interested in ATI or Nvidia cards, unless you have a compelling reason why I should consider something else. I currently have an OEM Geforce3 Ti200 in a homebuilt (Athalon 1900+ XP) box running Debian Knoppix, and a Nvidia Vanta in a (800MHz Athalon) box from Gateway running Suse 8.1 (Soon to be 9.0).

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV20 [GeForce3 Ti 200] (rev a3)

and

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV6 [Vanta] (rev 15)

The GeForce3 card did not like the new Nvidia drivers, and I can't seem to find the old drivers. The Vanta card is just pitiful! So I am looking to buy 2 new cards. What is your favorite gaming card under Linux?

Cheers,
Silas Bennett

you can always read the reviews in the HCL which i linked above...
secondly, just for your recommendation, i would suggest (of course ;-) ) an nvidia card...and since your going to buy new, and they are getting cheaper these days, and also since there is no point in buying old stuff, i suggest at least a 128 meg card, and not an MX version... either a Ti or a FX nvidia card...
lastly, just for you info, the old nvidia drivers are not hidden and all versions are readily available HERE
