I have tried that which was listed above on linux mint felicia, and the only result i could pull from it was that permission was denied when i put in and when i input fdisk -l it just took me to the next line down instead of outputting any data
i still am unable to use my flashdrive for anything but reading from it
By the way... I am a complete linux tech noob
Linux Mint should not have this problem. Please post the error you get when trying to write a file into it.
If you really wanna try that line, the line was meant to be put inside the fstab file.
Code:
$ sudo gedit /etc/fstab
Also you should NOT be using /dev/sda1, you should use:
The error i receive is "error while copying to "44E2-2871"
when i input sudo fdisk -l i got this
Quote:
Disk /dev/sdc: 33.6 GB, 33554432000 bytes
64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 32000 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 = 1048576 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x6f20736b
This doesn't look like a partition table
Probably you selected the wrong device.
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 ? 379950 937327 570754815+ 72 Unknown
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdc2 ? 82368 1027695 968014120 65 Novell Netware 386
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdc3 ? 913029 1858355 968014096 79 Unknown
Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary.
/dev/sdc4 ? 1409025 1409052 27749+ d Unknown
Partition 4 does not end on cylinder boundary.
You sure /dev/sdc is your flash drive? It looks pretty screwed up. U are still able to read from it? I suggest copying out all the data & try to repartition the drive.
It's possible the flash drive is dying.
