Mounting Cruzer Mini 256MB under Slackware 10.1

Hi all!

I have slackware 10.1 with Kernel 2.6.10, and I want to mount my USB flash drive. Unlike in other distributions, when I plug it in nothing happens, and when I

mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/hd

I get

mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist

What can it be? Can I fix my HOTPLUG so I will not have to mount it manually?

I am not infront of my PC, but I think that my USB zip drive is uda1 with 2.6.10 kernel and sda4 with 2.4.29 kernel.

Check the output of dmesg after you plug in the flash. It should tell you which device is being used. I use this command:

tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages

Also check that you have usb_storage and sd_mod loaded either as modules or compiled into the kernel
