Question Mounting an xD card on kubuntu hardy

When I put an sd card into the card reader slot on my HP dv5000 notebook Centrino duo, kubuntu hardy, an icon appears on the desktop and it mounts fine.

When I put an xD card in the same reader, the light on the reader flashes and the hard drive light flashes, but that's all I see.
ls /dev/sd* shows only my hard drive devices (sdax).

lspci shows
08:06.2 Mass storage controller: Texas Instruments 5-in-1 Multimedia Card Reader (SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD)

It works fine in Windoze XP (dual boot).

What do I do to get this mounted? I need to get the pictures from my camera without using Windoze.

Thanks.

Joe

XD is an proprietary format. No specifications are available to create a driver for it.

Work-around found!

I just bought a Digital Concepts xD reader/writer at Office Max for $12.
It turns the xD card into a regular flash drive and kubuntu/kde are happy with it.
