mount CD drive sideways

hi, does anyone know if it's safe to mount (as in physically) an internal cd drive (BenQ cdw 4824p) sideways?

A quick search didn't reveal any info on that particular model. If you do not have the manual or installation instructions then look at the tray. If it doesn't have two tab like devices on the corners of the left (usually) and / or right side of the indentation (front and back )where the CD sits then you should not install the drive sideways.

These tabs cradle the CD in place while the tray moves. some drives have movable tabs where you can install on either side.
