Exclamation monitor trippin' out!!!

last nite i started installing mandrake 9.0, and when i get to the point to set up the display settings, i get stuck..... it asks for the vertical and horizontal refresh rates, and gives me a dropdown menu to choose, but none of the options matches the monitor. the refresh rates for my monitor are 30-75 vertical, and 50-140 horizontal. when i manually enter in these values and click 'test', my monitor starts tripping out. basically colorful static.

i use this monitor for two other operating systems i have installed on my system, and it works fine---red hat 7.3 and windows xp pro sp1.

any thoughts?

thanks

Mandrake uses a different X configurator than RH, which apparently made a better guess. Copy the /etc/X11/XF86Config file from RedHat and use it with Mandrake. They're using 2 slightly different X's: 4.2.0 as opposed to 4.2.1, but none of the syntax has changed.

Cheers,
