Monitor Display Linux and XP

Hope someone can help...

I've worked with Mandrake in the past and had the same problem. I'm now trying out Xandros. Obviously, I am no Linux super user !!!

When I use the same monitor (dual boot or KVM) I always seem to have a position (diplay on monitor) difference between XP and a Linux dist. This time, there is a shift in the horizontal position ( approx 1 inch off my 19" CRT Viewsonic). The easy way, is the use the adjustement buttons on the monitor. But I will have to do this every time I switch for Linux to XP, which can be quite annoying. Isn't there a way within KDE to set the diplay (horizontal and vertical) as you would with the buttons on the monitor?

Both video cards are using the same resolution (1024 x 768).

Regards

Check your refresh rate. That's the most likely cause of a shift. If both XP and Linux are using the same HSync and Refresh rates, the card should be producing the same output.

Refresh rate

The resfresh rate does move te display (side to side) but I still can get a descent display from one computer to another. Right now the monitor is set to 75 Hz and I have a gap of 1 cm on the side of the display.

Any other suggestions ?

Regards
