Moniter Will Not Sleep

I am running Fedora Core 1 and have yet to see the monitor go to sleep. I'm running a ViewSonic E70f+. I've set up the power management to standby after 10 minutes but it doesn't do a thing. Any Ideas?

make sure you have:

Option "DPMS"

in

Section "Monitor"

of /etc/X11/XF86Config

The option of DPMS is in the Monitor section of the XF86Config

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "ViewSonic E70f+"
HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
VertRefresh 60.0 - 150.0
Option "dpms"
EndSection

Another thing I noticed was when in GDM... it will go to sleep. When logged in as a user or root, it will not.
