Missing Eth0 on ECS P4M800PRO-M motherboard
I am attempting to install trixbox V2.0 on this new motherboard with integrated LAN adaptor - the trixbox software is built over Centos 4.4, kernel is 2.6.9.-34.0.2ELsmp. No matter what i try i cannot get a working ethernet connection.
I have searched the forums and attempted everything i could glean from previous threads including disabling ACPI and re-installing.
I did once see the ethernet port recognised on boot and it allowed me to configure it, but it has since disappeared seemingly never to return. I cannot add a PCI network card and use that instead as i've got everything in a 1U rackmount case and there is no space.
During boot i get a message saying "Insax device Eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialisation".
ifconfig only returns lo, no Eth0.
modprobe eth0 doesn't seem to do anything.
ifconfig eth0 up fails with the "Insax device...." error message.
lspci does not include any ethernet adaptors (i have no way to enable/disable the ethernet port from the BIOS, and i have updated the BIOS to the latest version).
I managed to mount the cdrom drive and copy off the linux drivers supplied with the motherboard in order to try building rhinefet.ko but the make process fails so i'm unable to move forward that way (was rather hoping default rhine drivers would work).
I'm a total newb to linux, so any advice provided in a step by step way would be greatly appreciated.
