does anyone know what the max resolution of this card is. I haven't been able to find an official answer and the best I've been able to get out of it is 1280x1024, has anyone done better, and if so, how?
i don't know how to determine that
i don't know the model or anything like that
i've been searching all day for a program similar to lspci to let me know what kind of display i'm dealing with especially because i have no idea what kind of display is in my other computer (laptop) which i also need to figure out the specs for
considering it's not a high end monitor and it's older the max res of the thing probably is 1280x1024 but if you know of a way to figure out what kind of monitr it is that would be just wonderful
Generally speaking, VGA adapter supports higher resolution than monitor. When you use a 15' monitor, you'd better set an 800*600 resolution. And 1024*768 for 17' one, 1280*1024 for 19' one.
