Mandrake 9.1 + Creative Sound Blaster PCI 512

I've been lookin around here for a while, but I can't find a straight answer to my problem in particular. Today I downloaded Mandrake 9.1, and I have it all set up and everything. The only thing wrong so far is that I can't get my sound to work, so I went looking for people with similar problems. I downloaded the newest version of the emu10k1 driver, but I couldn't get "make" to work. I went looking in my own driver folders, and I found an emu10k1 folder. I came here, saw someone tell another person to put "insmod emu10k1" as root to enable sound, so I did that. I got a whole bunch of errors along the lines of "unresolved .... blah blah blah", and sound still doesn't work. Whenever I start Xmms, it thinks for a little while and dies. Kaboodle works, as in it starts, but nothing comes out.

I can't get anything done without my music (which I found all by myself on my windows partition)! As mentioned in the title, I'm using a Creative SoundBlaster PCI 512 on Mandrake 9.1.

Thanks!

edit: here are the unresolved symbol errors:

Hello,

I am also using a Soundblaster PCI 512 card with Mandrake 9.1 and have no sound. If you could tell me what you did to get your sound working that'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
