Madwifi in openSUSE

Hello,

I've been trying to do this for a while now with not much success. I have a Cisco Systems Aironet a/b/g PCMCIA wireless ethernet card with my openSUSE 10.2 system and I'm trying to get it working on my wireless network.

With Madwifi the card is recognizing the wireless AP, but when I try to connect with DHCP, it doesn't work. I tried a static address and it did connect to the AP, although I got a connection error when accessing the internet. I would rather use DHCP for my laptop in the first place. I do not not have any security protocols going on my router besides MAC Address filtering. The MAC address is already on the list.

I've been doing a little research and I thought that the problem might be between WPA Supplicant and Madwifi. Has anyone come across this problem before or have a solution for a similar predicament? I would be most thankful.

Thank you,
Stefan

This should be relatively straightforward. The following article includes several tips that should be helpful to you.

It covers wireless setup about 2/3 of the way down, but you may wish to read the rest of it as well to make sure you do not have other problems contributing to your situation.
