ive heard that gaspcav1-20071224.tar.gz has the support for my webcam but i'm really lost on how to install the drivers inside. i've read the text's inside but i also don't know how to install libsdl so I stopped there.

-opened up and kept trying anyway-
i used the command gsocagui -d /dev/video0 after doing the steps then hit G for the webcam probe and this is what followed:
toggle init id 16, mode 0
toggle init id 17, mode 0
toggle init id 18, mode 1
toggle id 17, mode 0
toggle id 16, mode 0
toggle id 18, mode 1
processing button 20
send 196610 mid, (20) action, (1) value
waiting for the messages from the grabber
rec 196610 mid, (20) action, (1) value
Get message id 20, value 1
ret 20 val 32
open failed
grabber mode quit

so the window pops up but I just can't grab the webcam and I'm unsure why.
