Smile Logitech QuickCam E 3500 - works perfectly with standard UVC drivers

Hi, I'm very new to Linux, and had a worrying time trying to track down a webcam for use with Skype.

I'm pleased to report, for the assistance of anyone else who's having trouble, that the Logitech QuickCam E 3500 worked perfectly first time, straight out of the box.

I am using the UVCVideo drivers in the current Linux kernel.

The camera quality is perfect, the mic works perfectly, and everything is good quality - in fact my son on the other side of the world, in Scotland, keeps commenting on how much better I look than with my previous 1.3Mp MS LifeCam VX 6000 under Windaze.

Ho ho, nice one - no, that habit was thrashed out of him long ago (only joking) Actually, I'm looking forward to getting my revenge soon by relying on him to support ME!
