Unhappy Logitech Desktop Driver Problems? Keyboard "Issues"

I have an interesting conundrum I hope you can help me with. At first I thought I was going nuts, but after careful checking I have determined that it has to be the driver. The problem began when I replaced an old and ancient desktop with a brand-new E110 from Logitech. However, it began to exhibit weird behaviour. It would mysteriously drop characters, neglect to turn off the {Shift} state when I released the key and fring off a string of characters at random times. Once I went to get a drinkand came back to 14 pages of periods. You may very well note some errors in this missive. Proofing is not myy strong suit.

In any case, I thought it had to be the actual keyboard so I returned it and, having a few extra dollars in my pocket, I replaced it with the next one up the food chan - an S510. I figured now I am off and running - try 10 pages of 4's. I am now hoping I may see someone else with the problem and, preferably, a solution, before making another long trek to Future Shop in my wheelchair to replace it with something else, like an (ugh! Microsoft) desktop. Before that, however, I figured I would take the problem to the experts (grovel, grovel)...

PS I am running an ASS M2N-SLIDeluxe motherboad with an AMD 64X2 4200+ processor and 2 GB of RAM. I have an NVidia 7600GT from MSI, an IDE 250GB hard drive and a 310GB SATA drive. I am suitably wired with both wired and wireless connections, Bluetooth, ec., like all good geeks.
