I'm currently experiencing difficulty with my Aironet 340 PCMCIA card while booting RH 7.3 on a Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop.

Trouble comes during the PCMCIA segment of the init sequence, although sometimes it makes it past this point to the login prompt.....only to crash at start of X-windows (either automatic or by startx).


The /var/log/messages is where things get interesting......

sees card, a lot of activity going on around IRQ 11....
"Socket status : 30000010"
"Kernel IO port probe: 0x00~~~~: clean"
some more stuff....all to "cs", assuming it means Cisco
then to "airo":
"kernel: airo: BAP setup error, too many retries"
"kernel: airo: MAC could not be enabled"
"kernel" airo: message repeats 11 times"
