Smile linux, ps3 and performance

hi,
I m planning to buy ps3. I saw blender render tests on ps3 linux it was equivalent of core 2 duo 3ghz. We all know that cell cpu can handle 47 hd video simultaneously like IBM told it.
I am not using blender i m using maya. but can i run maya x86 binary under ps3 ppc structure. and as i know ps3 got a hypervisor that blocks 3d acceleration access when linux trys to attempt it. Is there a way to break it?
I hope ps3 will be great hdtv based computer

thanks already
