Linux install problems on a SN25P

I recently got the Shuttle SN25P with the nforce4 MP chipset. The system has 2 GB ram, SATA hard drive and the ATI X800 XL PCI-E video card. It already has XP installed and I'm trying to make it a duel boot system. I'm having a hell of a time installing linux on the machine. I'm using the Fedora core 3 x86-64. I get through the installation processes and when the system reboots and loads linux for the first time, it hangs while "Configuring kernel parameters."

I have the linux nforce drivers from nvidia, but I can't install them until I boot up into linux. Besides, I went through the installation portion without a problem. I have heard of problems installing linux with the nforce4, but I know that people have found work arounds. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution? Since this is a relatively new chip set, will these issues be addressed in Fedora Core 4 or some other distribution? Thanks in advance for any help.
