Linksys WUSB11 2.8 on 2.6.x Kernel

Hello. I am having difficulty installing a Linksys WUSB11 2.8 Instant Wireless adapter on a Fedora Core 2 system with kernel version 2.6.5-1.358. I have been trying all day to get this to work, but I have been met with little success. The drivers haven't even compiled! They return error messages like 'dereferencing pointer to incomplete type` and other things (they are long, but i will post examples upon request).

I have tried both the Atmel and BerliOS drivers. (Regrettably, I cannot post URLs to these sites because I am new to these forums.) Neither have worked.

On the Atmel site, there is what appears to be a gzipped patch for 2.6.x kernels, however I have tried to apply this patch, and it does not work. gzip returns an error whenever I try, and when I attempt to open that file in KDE, it won't let me do it either.

Is this device even compatible with 2.6.x kernels? I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for help.

I'm in the same boat. I had the same problem with the patch you mentioned. I'm having problems with non-existent directories when I try make usb buildonly=release.

it's very annoying because I had this working with redhat 9.
