2nd post in 2 minutes. im doing well. in my mandrake documentation i am told that if my printers drivers are not listed when installing that i should choose a similar model. i did this and it does not work. i am a complete linux noob so please be gentle. i have the installation cd somewhere. is it worth hunting this down or is there something else amiss?

I set up a z605 a few days ago. Get the driver from the above link.

Don't worry that it is listed for Redhat 9. I tried it on my Mandrake 10.1 box and it works. Just remember to save it in a path WITHOUT spaces, eg /home/username/ or /tmp.

A few notes on the instructions:
To untar a file, type tar xzf file.tar.gz in a console or use ark.

Use the KDE control centre or the localhost link instead of lpadmin. I used KDE to setup the driver. You will need to enter "administrator mode" with the root password for this.
