I am using ubuntu 9.04 jaunty jackalope and I have a LAN card of Enter Realtek driver...the problem is that my PC is not shutting down untill I unplug my LAN chord or I switch off the broadband modem which I hve been using with this LAN card.Can anybody please helpme????
Maybe check in the BIOS of the machine, and see if there is a WOL option (Wake On LAN) which is maybe keeping the machine alive as long as traffic is detected on the network interface? If there's such an option enabled, disable it and re-test the situation.
