I have a MythTV box that I'm working on (details here:
http://www.mythtv.org) specifically it is a distribution named Knoppmyth -
http://www.mysettopbox.tv. Anyway, I say that merely to preface my question, I need to have two functioning sound cards in one linux box... I have a pci sound card that I have been using for a while now and I've been plenty happy with frankly, it's been working great. Now I need a second sound card, an onboard sound card which has always been in there, to be enabled and to work. The only problem that I'm having is that in my bios it asks if I want the sound card (AC'97 onboard) to be either "disabled" or to be "automatic." This means that if it detects a second sound card in the system it will disable itself thus leaving me with only one funtioning sound card. I am wondering if there is any way to trick my motherboard into not detecting this second, pci sound card... well, thanks in advance for any help. Feel free to ask for any clarification.
